Chicago Tech Rocks Beneficiaries
This year, the event will benefit four Chicago-area organizations that are developing young talent.
Chicago Tech Academy: This school is changing lives by inspiring, educating, and connecting a diverse new generation of leaders. ChiTech uses project-based learning, STEM education, real world experience with Chicago companies, and entrepreneurial principles to shape and inspire its students and prepare them for post-secondary education and workforce readiness.
ITA Tech Forward: TechForward is the philanthropic foundation of the Illinois Technology Association. Its mission is to strengthen the prosperity of the Illinois technology industry by developing a stronger workforce and building the next generation of industry leaders. Created to address the workforce shortage in the tech industry and identify diverse talent to meet industry needs, TechForward supports and provides programs and initiatives that attract, grow and retain world-class technology talent in Illinois.
The Geek League: The Geek League is a consortium of leaders and programs from four project-based learning programs: i.c. stars, Lumity, Year Up, and GenesysWorks. Together these organizations are helping open the door to better opportunities for thousands of young men and women all across the country.
Highwater Robotics: This project-based high school underwater robotics program strives to provide hands-on learning opportunities to students with a passion for engineering and entrepreneurship. Students learn about software and hardware design, business modeling, and pitching while conquering real-world physics problems and competing with other teams in the US and internationally.
